Builder Application

Builder Requirements

Service line must be one continuous piece of 1" CTS plastic pipe and run a 10# or 12# solid copper thermoplastic coated wire for direct burial with the service line. The service lines from our main to the meter must be a minimum of 30" deep. Service lines from the meter to the house must be a minimum of 18" deep. In residential areas, service lines must be run out to between the sidewalk and the curb.

The builder is responsible for installing the service line and riser before the gas tap will be scheduled. Risers are not supplied by Waterville Gas Company. Use Riser with 1" male thread on top. Must be 1' above finished grade and 3' away from any opening (l.e. door, window, vent)

All service lines and risers must be installed by an OQ certified plumber. We must receive the "Service Line and Riser Certification" form from our website before scheduling a tap. We will install the prefab when the tap is done. The builder will then need to plumb to the prefab, properly connect and vent a furnace, bond the furnace (if CSST piping is used), and install valves and plugs on open lines. Meter will be set at the time of airtest.

BUILDER FEES:

When requesting an airtest we require a $200.00 builder deposit and schedule two business days from the request. Any failed airtest will incur a $75.00 fee.

Properties with a high BTU load that require a larger meter will incur a meter fee. A standard 250 meter is no charge. Larger meter cost is dependent on size. Please let the office know what the property BTU load is so that the proper meter can be installed upon airtest.

Notice: Starting JANUARY 1st, 2026. A $350.00 prefab fee must be paid before any airtest can be scheduled.

Please call the office at 419-878-4972 to schedule an airtest or with any questions on tap or airtest requirements.
